How can I get my boyfriend to stop smoking?

My dad has smoked for 25 years. He bought the electric cigarette and hasn't smoked a real one in 2 weeks. It just has liquid nicotine stuff. It's healthier and doesn't smell. And you can buy cartridges for it with less nicotine so he can slowly reduce down to nothing.
