I have currently worked at Mcdonald's in Austin for about 2.5 weeks, and tomorrow is my first pay day...?

I've heard that the manager may not give new workers their first check until a few weeks later to guarantee that they will not quit the job after a few weeks. Is that true for most Mcdonald's in Austin ? If anyone is currently working at an Austin located Mcdonald's, do you go in the back to get your check or do you stand at the front counter and wait to ask to the manager about picking up your check? I wasn't given much information about picking up the first check, so I would really appreciate a fast answer from a fellow Austinite that could give me the details about picking up my first check. Thanks!
